Fat free, nut free, gluten free and vegan, oh boy!!
This recipe contains no fats and oils, which might seem odd if you know the benefits of eating cold-pressed organic oils and healthy fats.
Oils and fats certainly have a place in one’s day-to-day diet but they slow down detoxification. So when one is trying to detox the body it is best to refrain from all fats and oils. This means- avocados, olives, nuts, seeds and oils. (Basically all the yummy stuff) So what should you eat?.. ripe fruit of all varieties, fresh pressed juices, blended fruit drinks, salads and veggies.
Serves two or a side dish for four.
For this recipe you will require.
* A spiralizer (I got mine at upaya naturals)
* Food processor or a vitamix
* One large English cucumber
* 1 cup chopped tomatoes
* 3/4 cup sun-dried tomatoes
* 1 1/2teaspoon dried oragano
* 1 1/2teaspoon dried basil
* 1 teaspoon sea or mountain salt
* Half of a bag of kelp noodles (optional)
Place your sun dried tomatoes into a bowl with warm water. Allow them to soak while you prepare the rest of your ingredients.
In a separate bowl soak your kelp noodles in warm water. You can chop or break of the noodles if desired.
Chop the ends of your cucumber and spiralize that sucker.
Strain your sun-dried tomatoes and place them in your food processor along with your chopped tomatoes spices and salt. Mix until you reach the consistency you like. I like mine slightly chunky.
Strain your kelp noodles and add your spiralized cucumber, toss till mixed.
Add your sauce, and serve immediately.
There you have it, a detoxing and delicious spaghetti.
Not on a detox? Have fun with it, add a tbs or two of olive oil or/and top with sliced olives or anything else you like
You can use a zucchini in place of the cucumber, I personally use a cucumber as my children prefer it.
